Pumper Show 2009

Say what you want to about porta-potties, portable toilets, loos, cans, or honey buckets. To the more than 12,000 attendees of the annual Pumper Show sponsored by Cole Publishing, this is big business. Serious business.

The Portable Sanitation Association International estimates that there are over 1.4 million portable toilets being used worldwide. Those portable restrooms are serviced by an estimated 9,400 vacuum trucks. The PSAI suggests that the entire portable sanitation industry has grown to an annual $1.5 billion (US) market.

Still think porta-potties are a laughing matter?

Portable restroom operators are typically family-owned businesses. Finding the operators and the services they provide can be time consuming. That’s why the service offered in Portable Restroom Connection is essential for both the searcher and the portable toilet operators. We help the visitors to our site understand there’s more available than just contraction grade portable toilets but that most of our operators offer single unit portable restrooms with hand sanitizers, sinks and even flushing toilets, restroom trailers with sinks, mirrors, counter tops, flushing toilets and other extras. Some of our operators even offer shower trailers.

Restroom Rental Q&A

We would like to thank Mr. Ray Luden, area business manager with PolyJohn Enterprises, for taking some time out from his busy schedule to sit down with us for a brief interview about the portable restroom industry.

Mr. Luden has been in the industry for over 28 years, 20 of which were in the portable restroom service provider capacity.

PRC: What type of portable toilet should I rent?

RL: Well, every rental situation is different. It depends on what you want to accomplish with your rental, and your budget.

For example, let’s say you’re having a graduation open house for 50 to 100 people, and you simply want to keep them out of the house. In that case, all you would need is a basic rental unit for a short term.
